NASA’s Apollo Project

Over 8000 photos from NASA’s Apollo Missions have been released on Flickr. The Project Apollo Archive was created by Kipp Teague in 1999 and is a collection that showcases  some incredible and some rare imagery from the Apollo Missions.

The NASA Apollo Missions ran from 1961 to 1972. The program was first designed to land humans on the moon, which was successfully achieved in six missions: Apollos 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.

The Apollo program  continued on as the Apollo Applications Program (AAP) which saw Skylab, an international  space station orbit the earth from 1973 to 1979.

The Apollo Mission photos were taken with Hasselblad 1800 DPI cameras that were built specifically for the missions. NASA contracted Kodak to develop custom made film.

All 8,000+ photos can be found on Flickr: Project Apollo
