In their biggest redesign in history, Google announced a change to its long standing Google Logo. The four color Google logo now sports a new sans serif font and slightly muted colors. Google introduced its new logo with an animation that wiped away the original logo and replaced it with the new one. The new look logo is designed by Google to reflect the interaction with Google products across a wide variety of platforms and applications. Where Google was once seen on a single desktop browser page, its now used on everything from a watch face to a TV screen.
The change in the Google logo comes one month after the Google restructure which see’s google owned by a company called Alphabet. The restructure see’s a separation of Google’s money making arm from the experimental arm that includes robot cars and other research & technology.
“It doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you…. new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue ‘g’ icon and replacing it with a four-color ‘G’ that matches the logo.”
