Rockstar have stated that they would like to create one really big Grand Theft Auto game that includes all of the previous cities from the game series. In an interview with Digital Trends, Rockstar North head Leslie Benzies said he “…envisions players being able to travel back and forth to revisit places they explored in past games…”
Current speculation on the inter-webs include that GTA 6 will finally feature a female protagonist and it will be possible to customize the appearance of the main character. Its also been rumored that the game could feature natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis . A disaster occurring could dramatically alter the landscape, which would in turn effect missions, so unless the event is a given to fall on a certain day in a timeline, its difficult to imagine how it would be implemented in an already massive game.
GTA fans are using the previous game development time frames to predict the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date suggesting the game will launch late 2018 to 2019. This is based on it taking Rockstar at least five years to push out a new title. GTA 5 was first released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November 2013 and followed by PS4 and Xbox One releases in November 2014. A Windows PC was released in April 2015.
