What makes a strong female character? Is it toughness? A penchant for scowling? Is it because they ditch the girly stuff? Or do they need to mix it up with the right amount of girly + ruthlessness?
Claro Darko has edited together some of our favorite and most successful female heroes of film. Making the mix is Uma Thurman in Kill Bill driven by her ruthless revenge. Aliens Sigourney Weaver aka Ripley, for kicking some seriously nasty acid for blood Alien Butt. Sarah Connor, aka Linda Hamilton from Terminator and her single mindedness for preventing an apocalyptic future. Others include Catwomen, Trinity from the Matrix, Alice from Resident Evil and even Princess Leia from Star Wars. And the list goes on…
Our heroines all share some similar traits. They all have some seriously strong kung fu or martial arts skills, they’re good with machine guns and knives, they fly, ride and drive fast, dangerous and mean.
Which figures as these are all necessary skills for action movie heroes.
